Russell Braun in Orillia

    Russell Braun is in the prime of an amazing career. Arguably Canada’s finest operatic baritone, Mr. Braun regularly receives rave reviews for his outstanding renditions in operas ranging through Mozart, Wagner, Debussy and Britten. While his smooth voice and outstanding operatic acting have taken him all over Europe and North America, he also has received great acclaim in recordings, recitals and concerts with works such as Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde and Schubert’s Die Wintereisse.

Mr. Braun, accompanied by his wife, pianist Carolyn Maule, and joined at times by The Cellar Singers, will be heard in a variety of spirituals and folk songs as well as oratorio and operatic arias. Seldom, if ever, has there been a more auspicious solo singing event in the Orillia Opera House.
